Can We Talk?

Today I watched a few testimonies from x-Mormons on YouTube and I was reading through some of the comments and came upon a few that really stuck in my craw. I have seen plenty of comments like this before and just shook my head in disbelief and bewilderment that these people actually believed what they were saying.

Well, today I started talking to these people like they could hear me and questioning The Lord why they would think that way, then l thought, 'Wait a minute. I now have a platform where I can speak out about these things and they might actually hear me; the ones who are meant to  hear.' So here I am. I am going to get on my soapbox. I won't yell, I promise.

Now that I have your attention, you're probably wondering what I am going on about. Ok, here it is.

My heart sings when I hear about people leaving the Mormon cult that hides under the cloak of Christianity but sometimes their reasons are disheartening. Some leave because they are tired of being controlled, which I totally get. No one should be under anyone's control. They have had a life of chastity, never smoked or drank alcoholic beverages, you know, they have followed the word of wisdom. Now they are a 'free agent' and think they can do whatever they want just like a child who has turned eighteen and is moving out of his parent's house.

Please understand. However cultic Mormonism is, it teaches some truths as well as wholesome and healthy values. And I believe that the enemy has done that intentionally. How else do they get Mormon converts if there isn't a little bit of truth wrapped in the lies? And in the same deceivableness, satan helps you out of the church into another harmful way of life. That's why you need Jesus.

Premarital sex is a SIN. The only person you are to have marital relations with is your spouse. This means cohabitating with someone of the opposite sex as well. The Bible clearly says this. It is not a Mormon thing. It's a God thing. No one person guilty of sexual sins will enter the kingdom of God unless they repent and are cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.

1Corinthians 6:18  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

 fornication (n.)

c. 1300, from Old French fornicacion "fornication, lewdness; prostitution; idolatry" (12c.), from Late Latin fornicationem (nominative fornicatio), noun of action from past-participle stem of fornicari "to fornicate," from Latin fornix (genitive fornicis) "brothel" (Juvenal, Horace), originally "arch, vaulted chamber, a vaulted opening, a covered way," probably an extension, based on appearance, from a source akin to fornus "brick oven of arched or domed shape" (from PIE root *gwher- "to heat, warm"). Strictly, "voluntary sex between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman;" extended in the Bible to adultery. The sense extension in Latin is perhaps because Roman prostitutes commonly solicited from under the arches of certain buildings.

also from c. 1300 --from Etymology online

In case you don't know, the Greek word for fornication is porneia which means harlotry (including adultery and incest); figuratively idolatry.

Not being judgy here. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. If this is you just ask God for forgiveness and turn from it. The main purpose of my talking about this is The Lord said in Hosea 4:6  "My people perish for the lack of knowledge...", and we don't want that.

Don't take my word for anything. Ask God about it and search it out in the Bible. I will leave a few links below that have more information.
